Director Brian Brennan remembers... "When I first began photographing the young Latino men I saw on the streets of New York and the barrios..." |

Above: Sweet JAMES, an early 1990's discovery appears in the GEORGE COURTMAN directed VIEW TO A THRILL with his real-life lover, SEAN. You can imagine the extra hot "chemistry" between the couple! And look at that angelic face and long eyelashes! Thirty years later, I wonder if James and Sean are still together, and what are they doing now... most of the young men who I've photographed, or appeared in my videos did it for the quick money, and left that episode in their lives behind, and very few have kept in touch. But that's expected, and that's life...

How many of you remember "BIG BEN"? If this photo isn't an open invitation, I don't know what is! "Come and Get It"! This shot was taken during the shooting of a scene for J. COLINA's SPANISH LESSONS. The location was in a fan's high-rise apartment near 12th Avenue, on West 34th street. The bed (above) was in the corner of the bedroom and had huge windows on two sides with natural sunlight flooding in to make the scene 'pop'-- BIG BEN also appears in a solo in HORSE HUNG HISPANICS VOL.10 and LATINO GRANDE.

While my studio was located on First Avenue at E. 117th Street in Manhattan's East Harlem (detailed in my 3-DVD disc documentary, THE LATINO FAN CLUB ANTHOLOGY) my home was near Second Avenue and 116th Street and I found this amazing ruffneck in my neighborhood- right around the corner in one of the city's housing projects. Naming himself E-MONEY (as that's what he was interested in--not fame, but cash!) he was eager to show off his beautiful "family jewels". E-Money plays the lead character in ANGEL, which I dreamed up as a "homage" or at least an amusing "take off" on a popular movie by the same name from 1984- a year before I formed the Latino Fan Club. The original "ANGEL" had the tag line: "High School Honor Student by Day. Hollywood Hooker by Night" which tells the whole story. So I designed a very similar cover (see above) with the tag line: "College Boy by Night, Hustler by Night"... and you just know there are true stories out there of young men paying for college by this means! E-Money also appears in the sequel ANGEL'S AMIGOS, and also HOT SHEETS HIDEAWAY, EL BARRIO MEAT MARKET, SEX SLAVE CITY, RUFFNECK RELAPSE and others.

He called himself MYSTERY and it still remains a mystery why this young man turned to evil and violence in his off-camera life, after his time at the Latino Fan Club. Sadly and shockingly, months after appearing in HORSE HUNG HISPANICS VOL.15 (solo) and HOMEBOY HELL, this man murdered a gay man he was involved with. The actual arrest on television appears in my Latino Fan Club ANTHOLOGY, believe it or not. How a young man decides to take another man's life is beyond understanding. I don't know how much time he was sentenced to, but I hope he doesn't get out anytime soon. Such a waste of a life. Beauty is only SKIN DEEP.- in some cases...
